Introduction

Visible Impact is implementing Claiming Our Voices, Building on Beijing +25 outcomes to engage and advocate young females from diverse groups in the Beijing +25 and Generation Equality Forum related processes and follow up with support from Women’s Fund Asia (WFA). The selected young people will have opportunities to capacitate themselves on gender-related advocacy processes, Beijing +25 outcomes, Generation Equality Forum and its advocacy. Despite decades of movements for equality, not a single country today can claim to have achieved gender equality. Considering young females as advocates and change agents this project targets young people to hold our governments accountable of the commitments they made 25 years ago, and advocate for new and urgent issues to be addressed now and through future review processes.

Major activities under this project

Formation of Young Feminist Coalition (YFC)

Ten young females belonging to diverse groups have been trained on Beijing Platform for Action, Generation Equality Forum, Advocacy processes and amplifying their voices at International Forums. These ten young feminists will be involved in social media campaigning and organizing a series of webinars.

Social Media Campaign

Young Feminists Champions will be leading social media campaigns, formulate and disseminate their call to action and conduct relevant activism. With focus on creating contents and sharing them on different social media platforms on areas of Beijing Platform for Action, Gender Equality, Women’s rights and empowerment and Generation Equality Forum. They will also be organizing series of webinars to disseminate their learning to wider audience.

Our Impact

We are working with 10 young females from diverse group including sexual and gender minorities and people with disabilities and developing them as advocates which will enable them to bring new issues unique to this generation such as climate change, online harassment, and COVID-19 at the forefront of discussions. This global pandemic has demonstrated that women’s rights and gender equality are more important than ever. All the young feminists have enhanced their skills on gender related advocacy process and can speak for women’s rights and empowerment with decision makers.
