Major component: Advocacy, FP 2020, FP2030, family planning, people with disabilities, SAGM, young people
Visible Impact is implementing YOUAccess2021 to engage and advocate youths from diverse groups in the FP2020 recommitment processes in all the 7 provinces and follow up with support from PAI. The selected young people will have opportunities to capacitate themselves on Family planning-related advocacy processes, FP2020 recommitments, FP2030 its advocacy. Despite decades of efforts for quality family planning services, our country has not achieved its desired service utilization and a significant reduction in the unmet needs of young people. Considering young people as advocates and change agents this project targets youths to hold our governments accountable for the recommitments they made for FP2020, and advocate for new and urgent issues to be addressed as we move beyond FP2020 achievements.
20 young people belonging to diverse groups have been recruited and trained on Family planning, Advocacy processes, and amplifying their voices at National and provincial platforms. These 20 young family planning champions representing all the 7 provinces will be involved in social media campaigning, organizing a series of discussions, interviews, and sessions in order to collect issues and their solutions from young people on Family planning in order to present the issues and suggestions of young people to the respective local, provincial governments.
All our Family planning champions will be conducting multiple peer sessions in their respective provinces advocating on Family planning focusing on their provincial status, issues, and needs. Focus Group Discussions will be held to collect people's opinions on the available and accessible Family planning services in their locality, to better understand the services both consumer and provider perspectives will be approached. Along with these Key informant interviews with specific stakeholders will be conducted for identifying remaining gaps in the policies and delivery of quality services.
Young Family planning champions will be continuously advocating on different social media platforms, formulate and disseminate their advocacy briefs via consultations and conduct relevant activism. With a focus on creating content and sharing them on different social media platforms on areas of Family Planning.
We are working with 20 family planning champions from diverse groups and developing them as advocates which will enable them to bring out the issues regarding family planning upfront for addressing it. The Family planning champions will also be responsible for preparing advocacy briefs to be submitted to all the provinces as recommitment process of FP2020.
